The REAL Friends of Bill
Even if the circumstances as described by Paula Jones and Kathleen Willey are true, they were NOT sexually harassed by Bill Clinton. Sexual harrasment is a pattern of abuse, and each of these situations has been characterised as a single instance, falling more under the definition of a strong pass (yea, 'Kiss It' qualifies as a pass). Bill Clinton did not rape Paula Jones, in her own words she left the hotel room untouched. Kathleen Willey met Clinton several times after the situation she alleges, and she states that he never again put a move on her.
Then what about Monica Lewinsky. If the relationship occurred as it has been portrayed
through the media, Monica sought out and welcomed the
relationship, and that is NOT sexual abuse. Hey, then what
was she doing testifying in the Paula Jones case, where they
were attempting to prove a pattern of abuse of women by
Bill? Obviously she was in the wrong courtroom. If Monica
was/is being violated, it was by Tripp, the FBI and Starr.
This puts us in the unusual situation of being in the same camp as feminists and feminist organizations, who have resisted the calls of the media and the political right wing to attack Bill. Weird as it seems, we avowed sexists of the worst kind are sort-of bedfellows with Steinem&Co.
So our advice to the pundits and politicos and others looking to bring Bill down, with their minds and eyes totally obsessed by events below the belt. Give it up. Give Monica back her life. Do something relaxing...perhaps take up hashing...get a real life for yourself.
